As you may already have seen, The Stone Kitchen is closing on Monday 7th August for four weeks so that we can begin our renovation project to make our restaurant bigger and better for both our local and international friends and families. The look and feel of our new space will remain; a relaxed, homely restaurant with a rustic charm and menu to match. So, what will change?
Kids’ carnival
We’re building a brand new 12 x 6m indoor kids zone including a soft play area and lots of other activities! It will be bright and welcoming with glass doors overlooking the garden. The kid zone will be a perfect place to host children’s birthday parties, come rain or shine.
Glass, glorious glass
The restaurant interior will be expanding by 90m2 and will include large windows and glass doors overlooking the mountains, as well as a wood burning fireplace for cosy, winter days and large aircon units for the heat of summer.
Zen zone
A new front stoep (patio) with views over Groenburg, will delight our overnight guests at breakfast and dinner and create a quiet zone away from kids’ play areas over lunch.
Outdoor utopia
Charlie, our gardener, is already hard at work installing a mini-golf section in our kids’ play zone, and will soon be transforming our existing parking area into a landscaped garden, complete with herbs and vegetables. The car park will be relocated to the guava orchard, so that our breathtaking views are not disturbed by parked cars.
We will all be working very hard in August to ensure that we reopen as planned for the weekend of the 9th September. For updates on our renovations, make sure you follow us on Facebook, Twitter or Instagram as we will be posting photos regularly.
