SPCA Wellington Christmas Drive

If you’ve visited Dunstone Country Estate before, you will know that we are great lovers and supporters of our four-legged friends. Our own #Dunstonefamily includes: two dogs, Merlot and Rosé, five pretty pigs, Oinky, Petal, Cabernet, Ollie and Whisquita  several horses and a host of working ducks that help to keep our orchards clean and pest-free. The keep our dams free from mosquitos but aren’t in the vineyards You may have noticed our logo; it was designed to honour our first farm dog, a wiemaraner named Syrah, who ruled the roost for 9 years!

This festive season, we’re reaching out to all similar minded animal lovers and asking for your kind donations towards our SPCA Wellington Christmas Drive. Items big and small, new or second hand, tasty or otherwise, can be dropped off at The Stone Kitchen on your next visit. To say thank you, we’re offering free wine tasting for all significant donations, so stick around a little longer and enjoy some wine on the verandah at Dunstone. We’re running the drive throughout December, so even if you are planning to go away for a bit, we hope that you’ll have some time to pop in and see us with your gifts.

  • Tinned pet food
  • Blankets
  • Animal Toys
  • Leads or collars
  • Dog Treats
  • Water and feeding bowls

Dunstone Dog Christmas Competition – It’s a Dog’s Life!

Keeping with our four-legged theme, for Christmas this year we’re giving away one night at our 4* self-catering accommodation, Guava Cottage, to a well-behaved pooch and his/her loved ones! Does your Dunstone dog need to get away from it all?

To WIN this amazing prize, all you have to do is post a picture of your dog in the comments section of our Christmas Competition Social Post, which you’ll find on our social channels (Facebook, Instagram or Twitter) and tell us why your #Dunstonedog needs a break.

It goes without saying that to be eligible for this competition, you’ll need to bring your dog to Dunstone Country Estate to claim your overnight prize. This means, you will more than likely live within reasonable driving distance of Wellington or be happy to travel further afield with your dog.

Guava Cottage is the perfect pozzie for furry friends as it has its own walled garden to keep your pooch from roaming while you relax at the swimming pool and get a braai going.

With so many beautiful walks in the area, your dog will be spoiled for choice. The Stone Kitchen is also dog-friendly so if your pet is well trained and socialized, why not all join us for breakfast the next day before you head home.

We’ll choose a winner on Friday December 21st and the prize can be redeemed on any available date between 1st January and 31st December 2019, depending on availability at the time of booking.  Please note that we reserve the right to charge full room rate should the prize winner’s owners arrive without their Dunstone dog; please consider this carefully before entering the competition!
