Dunstone Bistro Gets a Makeover

Our beloved bistro, The Stone Kitchen, is set to go have a facelift and will be closing down for renovations in the month of August. Last year, we had the good fortune of purchasing our neighbouring farm and as a result, we are relocating the Dunstone Winery, which currently shares building space with the Bistro, to an elegantly refurbished barn just a stone’s throw away.  What does this extra space mean for The Stone Kitchen?

Our renovation plans include:

  • Increasing the size of our indoor restaurant space to create a large dining area that spills out into the courtyard and garden via bi-folding glass doors, providing ample natural light.

  • Building a closed-off, inside soft-play zone for young children so that parents can relax on rainy days, whilst the kids have fun in the safety of the restaurant without disturbing other patrons.

For updates on our renovation project, make sure you are following our social pages. And if you are a local visitor, please pay us a visit before the end of July to sample our new winter menu!

The Rosé Revolution: 10 of the Best Rosé Wines

The Dunstone Shiraz Rosé was named in the UK’s Independent newspaper as one of the top 10 rosé wines to drink in 2017.

Fun and light, rosé wine is the ideal tipple for a summer afternoon or evening. But it’s not just a pretty face with no depth. It can be interesting, textured and elegant, too, with a wide range of flavours from simple citrus and peach stone fruit to watermelon, sun-soaked red berries and black fruit, herbaceous green and white pepper spice. Some rosés have a tantalising lightness that makes them the perfect aperitif – others have more body and are a match for meaty dishes.
